The risks of cultural differences

Post by ishanijerin1 »

Many of our clients considering implementing PIM are companies with overseas operations, and we have many PIM implementation projects for managing product information globally.

In this case, it is necessary to work with the overseas business division to proceed with the project. So, what kind of risks are there in this case?

If you are a person in charge of working with overseas business divisions on a daily basis, you may know that overseas cultures and ways of thinking are very different job seekers database from Japan. For example, overseas, it is not common to outsource system construction to SIers. Basically, in-house engineers are responsible for everything from development to operation. Therefore, when introducing PIM, the resources of the overseas business division will depend on the in-house members. In addition, there are different ways of taking vacations, such as long vacations, which are different from Japan, so if you assume that you will be given the same resources as in Japan and can work at the same pace, it will be difficult to proceed according to schedule. Therefore, when expanding overseas, it is important to take a realistic approach, such as making a schedule with plenty of leeway and proceeding with the bases where you can proceed in sequence.
