Rostelecom and the Ministry of Digital Development have signed a contract under which the provider will provide Internet to educational institutions and election commissions. The contract price exceeds 124 million rubles.

According to the terms of the contract, PJSC Rostelecom must provide access to information networks, including the Internet, for municipal and state educational institutions in the field of secondary and secondary vocational education (schools and colleges) and election commissions. The appendix to the contract specifies the cost of Rostelecom services. Thus, the monthly tariff for "data transfer" for educational organizations with a speed of 50 Mbit/s is 5350 rubles. The same services for the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) with a speed of 1 Gbit/s will cost the budget 66,212 rubles per month.

It should be noted that Rostelecom must provide access to information networks not only via fiber-optic communication lines, but also using satellite technologies.

A representative of the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media said that the contract with Rostelecom is standard and was held on a regular basis to provide schools, colleges and election organizations with access to the Internet.

"The state contract with PJSC Rostelecom was concluded as the sole contractor by order of the Russian government. The Internet provision program operates within the framework of the national project "Digital Economy", which ends in 2024.
