hether he really wants to make a transfer. When he answers, the app will launch and the IP call will be turned on. The client will be able to accept it via the app or later by phone. The service is also available in roaming.

at Alfa-Bank, Evgeny Vinokurov, told a ComNews correspondent that the function is free.

Technically, the implementation o chile whatsapp number databa se f the innovation did not cause many difficulties, since the bank had previously launched a partially similar function: clients can verify employees by code. To do this, during a call, the user generates a unique one-time code in the bank's application, and the employee can say it.

"We saw the interest of clients in verification, and it was precisely because of the benefits of this function that we decided to develop and improve it. A call from the bank's application is a logical continuation of the reverse verification," explained Evgeny Vinokurov.

He also reminded that the bank is obliged to block suspicious transactions if it was not possible to reach the client during a suspicious transaction. This is a requirement of Federal Law No. 369-F3 "On Amendments to Federal Law No. 161-F3 "On the National Payment System", which entered into force in July 2024. If the bank finds a match between the details and those in the Bank of Russia database "On cases and attempts to transfer funds without the voluntary consent of the client", it is obliged to suspend the transaction. In the event of a transfer of money to fraudsters, the bank must return the lost funds to the client.

"T-Bank" will preemptively strike a blow to fraudsters
"T-Bank" has introduced a function for clients to protect funds from fraudulent schemes related to job offers. This happened 10 days after the entry into force of federal law No. 369, according to which banks are obliged to stop transactions from clients to fraudulent accounts.

Information security experts generally positively assess Alfa-Bank's innovation, but doubt that calls from the app can significantly affect the fight against fraud. "Any efforts in this direction are useful. Even if such a service protects only one client, it will not be in vain," says Rustem Khairetdinov, Deputy General Director of the Garda Group of Companies.
