Despite all its absurdity, such an argument also has to be answered.

The size of the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the invasion was about 220 thousand people (this is all together: from the clerk to the commander-in-chief), combat units made up about half. It is known that the invading army consisted of more than 200 thousand people. At the same time, all 200 thousand occupiers are combat units (after all, there were no military accountants, stokers or airfield staff in the Russian columns; at least they did not have mobile hospitals at first). So, even simple mathematics shows that to resist such an invasion, gathered in fists, the available number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was clearly not enough. That is why mobilization is being carried out. In practice, the task of the “peacetime army”, which is fed by taxpayers, is to contain the first invasion and allow the army to be demobilized for military needs. This is what happened to the Ukrainian army in both 2014 and 2022. The army, , suffered huge losses and fulfilled its mission. But without mobilization in war - no way. There was mobilization even in the United States, which never experienced a full-scale invasion. And not only in World Wars special database I and II, but also during the Vietnam War.

In fact, in the legal field of Ukraine there is a concept of “martial law” – which is covered in quite some detail both in the Constitution and in individual laws. This concept is also present in the legislation of many states and usually has a well-developed mechanism of application.
