How to Be Your Own Music Publisher
Let’s talk about the basics…
Self-releasing your songs means that you take on both the role of artist and publisher. Being a self-published writer ultimately means that you own all rights to your Intellectual Property (IP), meaning that business email address list poland you would have full control over how your compositions are used and receive all royalties associated with your share of your compositions.
This is amazing, but these benefits come with a bit more work. If you're still interested, here's what you need to do to self-publish your songs…

Step 1: Make sure your music hasn't been released yet
If you've already worked with a distributor, you may have opted for publishing services without realizing it. For example, our editorial administration services are very popular with our own clients. Before you do anything, make sure that this does not apply to you.
Step 2: Register with a collective management society
To receive your royalties, your songs must be registered with a copyright organization such as ASCAP, SESAC, or BMI. Collective management societies rely on the information you provide to determine who to pay and how much.
If you are a composer and you have not yet signed up, make sure you only sign up with one of them, not all of them.
