According to Alain Blaes, director of PR-COM , the communications consultancy firm , German politics is in a critical situation because of the poor performance of Twitter. In his opinion, this technology is playing a role in introducing politicians to the younger generation: "It is sending out catastrophic signals for the generation of 99 acres data young people who are angry with politics. Whatever the case, the presence of the parties on Twitter in relation to the upcoming elections is of no value to the citizens."
Professor Romy Fröhlich from the Institute for Communication Sciences and Media Research at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich suggests that parties take the issue seriously: “ and without it becoming embarrassing and laughable – cannot be done without a cost. You need a team of experienced collaborators to act strategically and continuously, even beyond the elections.” According to Fröhlich, “If you are not prepared to invest in social media and you want or can get on the bandwagon with limited resources, it is better to stay on the sidelines.”
