Speaking from personal experience, I have bought many things that I don't need, that don't satisfy any of the phases that make up Maslow's Pyramid, but that do satisfy my desire for consumerism. I think this, to a greater or lesser extent, happens to all of us, right?

Do all brands know how to create needs?
The reality is that no, and the market, full of supply and demand, teaches us that you have to be very good to create a supposed need for someone.

True needs vs. impulse buying
A brand must be well aware of what a person's true needs are and what are simply mere whims that arise from the crazy feeling of consuming a brand that has a reputation and status, which is known as "desire for possession."

In reality, the brand “doesn’t care” why people buy it, whether it’s a whim or a necessity, what it’s interested in is that they buy it. But it’s very important to know how to distinguish between these two cases because the strategy for a product intended to satisfy a need will not be the same as that for one intended to awaken that “crazy” impulse to buy.
