Going beyond the pattern
TALENT DAYS: Hi Basia! It was great that we got to meet and talk. Starting from the beginning – when you started looking for a job, what direction did you have in mind?

BASIA: Hi! When I started looking for a job, it was while I was still studying. I wanted to use my skills in a practical way before getting my degree. But also, a bit perversely, I wanted to go beyond the usual pattern of thinking that I need a specific piece of paper to start working "seriously" - I found out that what really mattered was my skills, openness to new experiences and a bit of courage.

Basia's participation in Talent Days

TALENT DAYS: With a bit of courage, you also found yourself at the Talent Days job fair – what were your impressions of participating in the event?

BASIA: I approached every interesting stand, and there were really a lot of them. I wanted to get a general idea of the situation. I didn't know most of the companies present at Talent Days and I kept coming across something new. The breakthrough was when I approached the next employer stands and explored job/internship offers, not to mention the increasingly creative attractions, including interesting mini-competitions where you could collect some great prizes.

TALENT DAYS: From your perspective as a Talent Days participant, what benefits do you see in this form of job searching?

BASIA: Direct contact with a potential employer is the main difference and at the same time the biggest advantage over searching for a job online. During the conversations, you can sense certain signals that suggest interest in the candidate and their skills. I know because I experienced it myself - it really boosted my self-confidence, which was especially important considering my shyness. Thanks to that, I felt more motivated to use the potential of the fair to the maximum.
