On Friday, February 25, 2022, Mynavi Creators held an online seminar entitled "Web Industry Evolution Practical Course #15: User-centricity and Perspectives Essential for UI/UX Designers of Business Companies."

"Web Industry Evolution Practical Course" is a course where you can learn about your career from role models working at the forefront of the web industry. This is the 15th installment of the series, and this time we welcomed Suzuki Shinji as a guest to talk about the mindset that designers need to have in order to be successful in a business company.

Shinji Suzuki,
UI/UX Designer, Money Forward, Inc.

Born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. After graduating from a vocational school, he worked as an art director and senior designer at two design production companies for seven years. He was responsible for a wide range of projects, from print media such as transportation advertisements and magazine advertisements to large and small websites. In 2019, he joined Money Forward, Inc. and began his career as a UI/UX designer. He is mainly responsible for the overall design of iOS/Android applications. He also contributes to the marketing and branding fields by utilizing the skills he has acquired in his career.

"Resolution" and "why" needed to understand the user's perspective
After gaining experience as a designer at a production company, Suzuki is currently working as a UI/UX designer at Money Forward, Inc. In the first half of the seminar, he spoke about "user focus," one of Money Forward's guiding principles.

Suzuki says that moving from a production company to a business company has changed his awareness of "for whom I am making things." At a production company, the main goal was to provide designs that satisfied the client, so it was a "client-focused" situation. By contrast, at a business company
