Eliminate what is not essential A tidy desk or work table is essential to increase productivity and fight procrastination. Clearing your mind of all unnecessary thoughts is equally essential but much more challenging. That's why it's good to start with the space around you. You can never be productive to your full potential if your environment is messy and chaotic.

This is perhaps one of my favorite techniques for combating procrastination.

It was born from an idea by Francesco Cirillo, which is based on dividing uk email list any task or activity into 25-minute time slots, alternating with 5-minute breaks.

When he was a student, Francesco had a tomato-shaped timer.

He began to implement this technique to increase his productivity, and obtained such promising results that he began to spread this technique, first online and then with a book, entitled “ The Pomodoro Technique ”, achieving a dazzling success. Francesco currently teaches at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL) and is the owner of Cirillo Consulting.

Now, you don't have to use a tomato timer (although that would be pretty fun), any timer on your phone or computer will do.

The reason this technique is so effective is because it forces you to focus on a task for a set amount of time, thereby pushing you to combat procrastination and give that task your full attention.

Plus, the short five-minute break lets you recharge your batteries, making you feel more energized and ready to tackle the next 25 minutes!
