When will these rules be effective?

Post by tapeya6238 »

arketing pressures helps us maintain high standards in these areas.

Here's a detailed look at what's changing and how to easily comply with this new regulation, with the help of Batch.

Who is affected by these new rules?
These new provisions mainly concern senders of mass commercial emails to prospects.

However, all senders, including Batch email clients, especially those that regularly communicate with Gmail or Yahoo users, also have an interest in complying with these provisions in order to maintain a good reputation and ensure email deliverability.

These new standards will come into effect on February 1, 2024. Email senders are advised to start complying with this new policy as soon as possible in order to maintain good deliverability.

New rules: the changes, and what to do
1. Email Authentication
What’s changing: Bulk senders, who updated mmxxiv mobile phone data send more than 5,000 emails per day to Gmail and Yahoo addresses, must authenticate their emails using established protocols such as SPF (Sender Policy Framework), DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail), and DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance). This is essential to verify the sender’s identity and minimize the risk of identity theft.

What to do: Implement the mentioned authentication protocols: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. Good news: Batch has been doing this with email clients since day one. If you are using Batch emails, you can read our dedicated article on setting up the email sending domain.

2. Easy unsubscribe process
What's changing: Gmail and Yahoo are imposing a clearly visible, one-click unsubscribe option in marketing emails, which goes beyond most GDPR/EU ePrivacy and CNIL guidelines.

What to do: Make sure all your marketing emails include this feature and process unsubscribe requests within two days.

Note for Batch email clients: we add a List-unsub (definition below) to all your marketing emails, and since it fits into Gmail and Yahoo guidelines, you won't have to do anything. List-unsub has two main benefits:

Make your subscribers' experience easier : This is one of the most user-friendly ways to present a one-click unsubscribe option in marketing emails.
Maintain your deliverability : By making the unsubscribe process easy, you avoid being marked as spam, which preserves your sender reputation and deliverability.
