In a world where Digital Transformation is a reality, professionals in the education sector must also reflect on how such changes affect the way of learning and teaching.
With this in mind, Prof. Dr. José Cláudio Securato , a reference in innovation in the area of education, wrote the book Onlearning: How disruptive education reinvents learning in 2017 , bringing new concepts and presenting a new methodology capable of breaking with the education segment.
Three years after the publication of the work, with its theories already tested and approved through LIT , and in a scenario of global discussion about the future of education and the use of new technologies driven by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, Saint Paul Editora launches the English version, and an update of the Brazilian version of the work, on its website and on Amazon worldwide.
As part of the promotion of this new phase of the book, Securato will participate in a series of 100% free live broadcasts, called "Marathon Reinvention of Learning", which will take ghana whatsapp data place between August 12 and 18. The objective is to discuss the chapters of the work, digital transformation and the future of education, in addition to the pillars that underpin the Onlearning methodology. A free methodology for use by educators
In the work, composed of three parts (historical aspects of the sector, disruption in the economy and business models that involve the proposal for transformation of Securato's own company, Saint Paul Escola de Negócios), the author presents how essential tools for other sectors of the New Economy are reproduced in education, such as the use of emerging technologies, the perception of the student at the center of strategies and the importance of UX and UI to improve the user experience, maximizing learning.
Thus, it presents, in an open source (free to use) manner, a teaching methodology and business model applicable to all players in the sector, regardless of size or teaching area.
Protagonists of their own learning
In this new learning culture, the author also highlights the leading role played by the heutagogy process, where each person must be the manager of their own knowledge. "In the industrial era, people were expected to tell others what to do. Today, we need to learn how to learn from an early age. As educators, our role is to bring possible concepts to the new reality and deliver a complete experience to the student. The digitalization of education is already a reality and we cannot forget the importance of following trends and adopting tools that optimize the way of learning," says the entrepreneur and professor, who was a pioneer in putting the concepts into practice with LIT, a global case in innovation in the sector that uses artificial intelligence to personalize education, which can be adapted to any age and stage of education, and promotes the democratization of quality education.
Lifelong learning is also addressed in the book as one of the keys to teaching, but in a new way, where the student will always be connected and developing new skills more frequently. In this sense, Securato advocates access to content in micro-moments , making the learning process and search for knowledge more fluid and flexible in each person's time and space. "It is essential to place the student at the center of the learning process, understanding that each person is unique and will present different ways of achieving the best performance", he concludes.
As for technology, the author discusses techniques such as blockchain, augmented reality, cloud computing and big data as means of disruption in the book. According to him, it is impossible to think of a future without artificial intelligence, especially when it comes to education. "Blended or hybrid learning is a trend that was already being established through distance learning. But now we can use new technologies to expand the learning experience, working with new formats to make learning more flexible and increase engagement in virtual environments as well."
