LONG TAIL AND LEAD GENERATION: THE ESSENTIAL INGREDIENT

Post by chameli »

In lead generation, we use the long tail principle to illustrate phone number data the correlation between query precision and conversion rate. In fact, the theory goes like this: The more precise the query, the higher the conversion rate. This is based on the principle that a user who types in a specific search has a better idea of what they are looking for than a user who types in a broad search.

Let's take a simple example. An Internet user who types "sneakers" may want to find out about shoes as well as a sport. Someone who types "adidas sneakers" definitely wants shoes, and in a certain color. But someone who types "adidas sneakers size 43" clearly has a purchase intention.

Applying this theory therefore necessarily encourages us to avoid overly broad searches for keyword research. This diagram from Moz, which also adds a cat to the equation, sums up the whole theory very well:

So that's the relationship between Long Tail and lead generation. It's better to optimize your landing pages for more specific searches. It's better to avoid casting a wide net blindly on searches that will bring you traffic, but not sales!

Because you shouldn't confuse traffic with sales: writing a blog that brings 500 visitors to your site and generates 5 leads (1%) is less interesting than an article that would bring only 200 visitors, but 20 leads (10%).

So keep this in mind when you think about creating content for your websites! See you soon!
